Lead Facilitator
Ellie Smallcombe
Ellie, our Lead Facilitator has a BSc (hons) in Human Communication and is a qualified primary teacher with around 13 years of experience of teaching in a special needs setting. She has a Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification and a Level 3 in childcare and play work and another Level 3 in Coastal Schools!
She loves an outdoorsy lifestyle and lives on a smallholding with her husband and two small boys, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 29 sheep, 3 ponies, ducks and numerous chickens. She is a craft-a-holic, knitting, crocheting, sewing, felting, spinning, dyeing yarn, pattern designing, and also loves baking, making jams jellies and chutneys, but most of all cake!! She also loves reading although since having the boys she has converted to audiobooks as the only way to get through books at a reasonable rate.
She can’t wait to meet your little people and follow their individual amazing journeys!
Facilitator
Janina Henly
Janina is one of our facilitators. She is highly qualified and has recently completed her childcare practitioner qualifications with us. She has many years experience of working with children in a variety of settings and loves being out in nature, growing fruits and vegetables, singing, and travel.

Hilary Ford
Hilary is an experienced Childcare professional who has worked in a wie variety of roles. She is part way through her Forest School leader (level 3) course.

Her background is in both childcare and horticulture and through Coed Cariad she is able to combine the two skill sets in an outdoor setting, enabling children to learn in and about their environment away from the confines of a mainstream classroom.
Facilitator
Hayley Oxborough
Hayley has over 12 years of experience in a childcare role, working with children from 3 months to 5 years. She holds qualifications including a Diploma of higher education in childcare, learning and development and Montessori Pedagogy. She also has experience in supervising forest school sessions. Hayley lives on a smallholding and love to be outside. She has made a small allotment on her smallholding and enjoys getting her hands dirty whilst learning new skills!
The Core Group
Management responsibilities for the setting
Jeannette Simpson, Ellie Smallcombe, Janina Henly, Emma Rathbone, Jo Bond, Anita O'Flynn, Pete Llewellyn, Chloe Howman, Annie Shove, Lauren Faithful and Siobhan Price make up the Core Group.
The Core Group manage all aspects of the project ensuring that Coed Cariad offers the highest level of quality childcare, forest school and play practice.

Administrative Manager
Emma Rathbone
Emma is super organised and in her own words she "loves a spreadsheet!" Which made her the perfect choice for this role. Whilst she ably completes the role of admin manager, she also home educates her son enthusing him with her love of the outdoors!
